The Down Range Golf Program is a free program which partners with the PGA to teach Veterans the game of golf as a form of physical activity and rehabilitation. This clinic is taking place on October 4, 2014 at Falcon Crest Golf Course in Boise, Idaho. If you are a Veteran with a PTSD, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, visual impairment, loss of limb, burns or chronic diseases that keeps you from engaging in activities around home, you are encouraged to apply to participate in this clinic for a fun day of instruction, free lunch, and ultimately, to begin the path to a healthier lifestyle.

All Veterans who participate will gain knowledge, experience and information at the clinic, and will also be provided with an individualized plan and ample resources to be able to continue to learn to golf after returning home.  Community partnerships are being developed to help foster individual success in your local community.  Instruction will be tailored to each of your specific skill levels, from first time golfers to those of you who are just improving upon current skills. PGA Professionals will be providing instruction on the Driving Range as well as chipping, putting and playing a 3-hole loop on the golf course. A limited amount of adaptive equipment will also be available for use as needed.

You are encouraged to  contact Kelly Odell, MS, VA Recreation Therapy, @ 208-573-6133, or kelly.odell@va.gov, Boise VA Medical Center, and register by September 12th, 2014.
